Partnership with the Kenya Bankers Association as they mark the 55th anniversary

July 14, 2017

It was a delight for the Green Belt Movement (GBM) to partner with the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) as they celebrated their 55th anniversary today.

The auspicious event started with a cake cutting ceremony at the Green Belt Movement headquarter with staff from both organizations taking part led by GBM Chair-elect Mrs. Marion Kamau and KBA CEO Mr. Habil Olaka.

The teams then proceeded to Ngong Forest for a tree planting event where they were joined by officials from the Kenya Forest Service, students from Ngong Forest Primary School and Ngong Community Forest Association members among other stakeholders.

Ngong Forest is one of the few forests in the world within a city and was gazeted in 1932. This forest is one of the sources of river Mbagathi that nourishes the Nairobi National Park, a major tourist attraction, making it a crucial resource.
