APE Artists Project Earth

APE Artists Project Earth aims to create a better world by bringing the power of music and the arts to 21st century challenges. Its first three albums - Rhythms del Mundo: Cuba, Classics and Revival - have sold over one million copies so far and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to support
effective projects and awareness-raising initiatives that combat climate change and raise funds for natural disaster relief.

Through An African Story: Responding to climate change from the grassroots project, supported by APE partnership, Green Belt Movement aim on raising awareness on roles that rural women and their communities, trees and forestry play in Africa tackling climate change; strengthening African rural communities’ understanding of climate change and REDD+, and their capacity to take action. The project activities will be held in the lead up to and during the 2011 UNFCCC Climate Change conference in Africa- COP17.

”We are delighted to partner with the Green Belt Movement whose work we have admired for many years. Community tree-planting initiatives are one of the most effective ways of combating climate change and have many additional benefits to improve livelihoods. Green Belt's associated work to raise awareness of international policy for reforestation and REDD is also essential in building climate justice and equality.”
