Tree planting with schools in Nairobi and Nakuru Counties

May 20, 2016

It has been a busy week here at the Green Belt Movement. With our tree planting season in high gear, we have managed to plant 8,000 indegenous tree seedlings with different schools across Nairobi and Nakuru Counties.

The highlight of these activities was planting of 6,000 'Peace Trees' in five different schools within Nakuru County in partnership with Green Cross Sweden. This not only to promotes environmental restoration, but also peaceful coexistence amongst the younger generations.

In Nairobi County, under our Green Urban Schools Project, we partnered with the Kenya Defence Forces to plant 2,000 tree seedlings in Lavington Primary School.

We thank all those who joined us to make these activities a success.
