GBM Community Trainers of Trainees Participate in the Trans Nzoia County Investment Conference and Expo

March 21, 2016

The Trans Nzoia County Investment Conference and Expo was held between March 16 and 18, 2016, in Kitale Country Club with the theme:  “Unlocking investments in Kenya’s breadbasket”. The forum attracted investors and likeminded traders from all walks of life who gathered to discuss development issues that would improve the County’s economy.

Farmers groups, community based organizations and other institutions were given a chance to present their products to local and foreign investors. The Green Belt Movement (GBM) community Trainers of Trainees (TOTS) were present at the forum and showcased various clean energy technologies such as improved cook stoves, sustainable charcoal making kilns and briquettes at their stand.

Over 200 delegates visited the stand and were impressed by GBM’s role in not only promoting clean energy, but also empowering local communities, especially women. The forum provided a great networking opportunity for the TOTs as well as a market for their products.
