Wangari Maathai Marathon: Proposals to Tender Invited
The Green Belt Movement (GBM) established in 1977 by Professor Wangari Maathai (the 2004 Nobel Peace Laureate) is a reputable Non-Governmental Organization that empowers people and builds their capacity to restore the environment, promote good governance and develop sustainable livelihoods in Kenya and beyond.
GBM is desirous of establishing Wangari Maathai Marathon event whose major goal is to preserve and promote environmental conservation for sustainable development through environmental awareness, participation in sporting activities, and promotion of eco-friendly lifestyles. Further, the marathon seeks to raise funds for growing trees in key water towers thereby preserving the legacy and vision of its Founder.
The Marathon is contemplated as an annual event that will commence most preferably in 2020. In order to actualize this milestone event professionally, the GBM plans to outsource organizational expertise from competent firms in the area of sports marketing and event management.
We are thus inviting qualified and interested firms to indicate their interest by promptly sending a letter of intent to participate in the tendering process to firstname.lastname@example.org.
