The Green Belt Movement and Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies are developing a “wPOWER East Africa Hub” to unlock women’s potential in natural resource management and in climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies across three East African priority watersheds i.e. Mount Elgon - Uganda (Upper Nile watershed), the Mau Complex and parts of Western Aberdares (Lake Victoria watersheds) and the Turkana /Omo (Cherangani water tower).
