Public Participation Workshop on Community-Based Water Quality Monitoring in priority watersheds in Partnership with USEPA

A GBM led initiative in support of rehabilitation of priority watersheds in Kenya using GBM Watershed Based Approach, Karen. GBM and USEPA have embarked on a holistic approach to support communities to monitor water resources in degraded watersheds. There has been an increased awareness within communities about the linkage between destruction of forests, rainfall patterns, volume of waters in rivers, agricultural productivity and socio-economic problems and even climate change. Through this initiative communities must take actions to minimize and control  potential pollution sources in order to protect our .

 Public participation enable communities to connect with NRM, tap into collective wisdom of the public, for decisions to take into account the needs and values of stakeholders,  build bridges and connections, creates a balance between Environmental, Economic and social issues and is a  source for sustainability that seek lasting solutions and decisions.
