GBM and Waterstone bamboo plantation visit - Photoblog

A team from Green Belt Movement (GBM) led by Mercy Karunditu, Head of Programmes and Stefan Norris, a board member from Waterstone visited the bamboo project in Maragua constituency, Central Kenya on 8 July 2013. The project was launched on 23rd April 2013 as a joint effort between GBM and Waterstone.

Waterstone's Stefan Norris shares a moment with members of the community in Maragua


Bamboo plantations have the potential to be part of the climate change solution as well as to help secure energy and rural livelihoods through the development of bamboo-based businesses.The main purpose for the visit was to monitor the progress of the over 1,200 bamboo seedlings planted.
